West Orange Team In U.S. Amateur Playoffs

West Orange Krush, winners of last month's USATE tourney in Parsippany, will be competing in the U.S. Amateur Team playoffs tomorrow, starting at 1 p.m. The games will be broadcast on the Internet Chess Club.

New Time For Summit-DOCA Match

The April 2nd match between Summit and the DOCA Knights will take place at 2 p.m., instead of 11 a.m.

Victor Rosas and Fermin Arias had victories on boards 1 & 4 to lead West Orange over the Karpovs 2.5-1.5 and back into the race for 1st place. Alberto Martinez added a draw.

Ian Mangion won and Max Sherer drew for Kenilworth.

DOCA Knights 2.5 Kortchnois 1.5

Praveen Balakrishnan won on board 3 to lead the Dean Of Chess Academy to their 2nd match-victory of the season. Marvin Shumowitz, Aleksey Vishnyakov and Doug Pecota chipped-in with draws.

The undermanned Kortchnois received half-points from Geoff McAuliffe, Greg Tomkovich and newcomer Chris Curran.

Hamilton 3 Sparta 1

Hamilton defeated Sparta on Tuesday 3-1. Charles Miller and Ed Sytnik won with White on the even boards while Dragan Milovanovic and Phil Hepler drew with Black on the odd-numbered ones.

Tom Murray and Mark Van der Veen had half-points for Sparta.

Tonight at the Toby Katz Community Center in West Orange the 4-1 Kenilworth Karpovs face 2-1-1 West Orange while 0-5 Sparta takes on 3-0-1 Hamilton.
